MATT FIFIELD
CHAIRMAN
Matt is the Chairman of North Coal and Managing Partner of Pacific Road Capital, a specialist investor in the natural resource sector with deep expertise in early-stage and mid-tier metals and mining businesses. Pacific Road Capital invests in public and private entities, centred around the themes of deep value, catalytic change, and responsibility to stakeholders and has managed two private equity funds totalling $776 million in commitments from the world’s leading asset allocators. Matt developed his investment philosophy over 20 years by working in natural resources as company founder, private capital investor, corporate executive, and mining financier. During his career, Matt has participated in over $7.5 billion of mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising in mining. He was a founding partner of Foresight Energy.

DAVID MORGAN
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
David has been the CFO since 2021, and has extensive financing and project development experience, including having the ability and track record of partnering with communities and First Nations setting the foundation for impactful and multi-generational benefits. David brings 20+ years of financial and commercial experience and has held various senior finance roles across Canadian and Australian entities in the mining sector. Some of David’s past finance roles have been with Pacific Road Capital, Brookfield, Premier Gold Mines, and Glencore. David has held various stakeholder facing roles in Canada that have involved extensive work with First Nations, regulators, and financial institutions.
David is a member of Chartered Accountants Canada and Australia.

ABBY COUSINS
GENERAL MANAGER
Abby is a senior geoscience professional with 15 years of experience across the Australian and Canadian coal industries, encompassing exploration, operations, project development, and mine planning. She has held leadership roles overseeing exploration programs, health and safety performance, environmental management, land access, reclamation and land stewardship initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory permitting and compliance. With a strong foundation in geology, Abby brings strategic insight to projects operating within highly regulated environments. Abby is a registered Professional Geoscientist in the Province of British Columbia and operates in accordance with established professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
